The Auburn - Alabama Rivalry
The Iron Bowl is the official name of the annual football game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers. The series, considered one of the most heated rivalries in American sports, is currently a home and home matchup played the week of Thanksgiving between the SEC teams. The game was dubbed the "Iron Bowl" in 1964 by Auburn coach Ralph Jordan, referencing the strong steel industry presence and history in the Alabama city of Birmingham.
The 2019 Iron Bowl will be played at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn on Saturday, November 30th and marks the 83rd meeting between the two teams.

The 2018 Iron Bowl
The #1 Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Auburn Tigers by a final score of 52-21 at Bryant–Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL on November 24, 2018. Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa accounted for a record setting 6 touchdowns: 1 rushing and 5 through the air. The Crimson Tide finished the regular season undefeated at 12-0 en route to their fifth appearance in the College Football Playoff.
